TIRUPATI: The TTD Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad today announced the results of the 28th Epic Study Examinations held in February.
Of the total 1,37,598 students appeared for the exams, 1,09,717 passed.
Of the total candidates, 68,057 are girls.
The pass percentage among boys and girls was 79 and 80.5 respectively.
Dharma Parichaya exam was conducted for sixth and seventh class students,while eighth, ninth and 10th class students appeared for Dharma Pravesika.
Though the number of students appeared for the exams increased this year,the pass percentage decreased. In all, 50,851 students appeared for the exams last time and 84 per cent of them passed.
In Dharma Parichaya exam, G Durga of Kasturi Municipal Girls High School of Chittoor district stood first, followed by G Anand of AP Residential School in Nirmal of Adilabad, and S Sai Bhargavi of AP Residential School in Yemmiganur of Kurnool.
In Dharma Pravesika exam, K Rajeswari of ZP High School of Fasalvadi in Medak district stood first, while VM Haripriya of Sri Venkateswara Children’s High School in Tirupati and SJRRMMC High School in Guntur got second and third places respectively.
Speaking to mediapersons after announcing the exam results, Parishad Secretary Vijaya Raghavacharyulu said gold and silver dollars and cash awards would be presented to the State and district toppers.
The district-wise toppers’ list was sent to the schools. The date of prize distribution function would be announced soon, he said.
The top three State rankers will get Rs 4,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 along with a 5 gram gold dollar respectively, while the district toppers will be presented cash awards of Rs 800, Rs 600 and Rs 400 along with a 10 gram silver dollar. Srivari silver dollars will also be presented to the school teachers of toppers.
